Heading south on I-77 in Ohio. Well, I'm at a rest area, actually. But you know what I mean. I mostly wanted to write down some more lyrics that are falling into place.

For Long Way From Home.

When I'm a lover, I go all the way.
Don't hold back nothing so that I can say,
Oh, my Lord, good God Almighty, I'm a man.
I'm in paradise, though I'm a long, long way from home.

That's a start. It's the first decent lyrics that have attached themselves to the melody that Ted Huston originally sang to it. I think it'll do. A song that funky shouldn't be too complex, I don't think. Although I think that the song will essentially be Our Guy trying to convince himself that everything is all right, when he and everyone else knows that it isn't.

Well, I should be on my way. Been singing all morning, and have been surprised at how strong my voice is after a year of general disuse. Gonna sing all the way home, probably.

Hope to be home reasonably soon. I figure it's around 440 miles from here. So if I don't get sidetracked, I'll probably be in Kings Mountain around 18:00.

Man, how I'm looking forward to getting home.
