Bleary-Eyed & Slack-Jawed

Driving bare-footed. I have say, after 7 1/2 years of driving a truck, this is a first for me. Long story short, I had stopped on an exit near Marshall, Virginia for a nap and had no more than laid down when a state trooper came banging on the truck and told me I had to leave. He didn't even give me time to put my shoes on. He was going up and down the highway running off truck drivers.

So now I'm driving bleary-eyed and slack-jawed on I-495 around Washington, D.C. Road hazard, anyone? I don't think I'm an immediate danger to those around me, but I thought it wise to stop. I'm not very happy that the trooper kicked me back into play. Apparently it makes sense to the Virginia Highway Patrol to wake up sleeping truck drivers and make them drive. You don't have to go home, but you got to get the hell on out of here.

At this point I'm just writing to stay awake. I really needed that nap. I'm still on the 495 loop, but I'm in Maryland now. I'm going to get over on I-95 and start looking for somewhere to park. Yeah. Fuck you, Virginia. Maryland will let me sleep.
