I've stumbled upon a new idea. A lady who lives behind the cafe has proposed to Loretta the idea of someone buying her 1983 Monte Carlo for $800. Hmmmm ...
It would seem to me that a Monte Carlo should be worth more than $800. I think I'll see if Lo will let me borrow that money. Hell, the Thunderbird isn't in the greatest of shape, after all, and I am going to need something if I am ever to move out.
Plus ... I'm thinking on other terms as well.
If I paid as much off of my loan as possible (meaning the Credit Union account) I might be able to implement something. If I were to take that Monte Carlo and use it as collateral on a $1,500 loan, or so, I could just about pay off the existing loan. That would free up the title to the Thunderbird, which I could then have signed over into my name. Then, hopefully, I could get another loan on the T-bird and use that money to pay off the loan I had against the Monte Carlo. Essentially, what this would do is establish a good credit reference with the bank and other creditors. And if the Credit Union will give me a decent reference, I would be well on my way to getting some sort of favorable credit record established.
Well, its a thought anyway.
The lowest common denominator is the fact that the T-bird is struggling. I can't see how I could afford a new van or truck without some sort of down payment. That Monte Carlo would provide a good middle ground. Hell, if after I went through all that I mentioned, which would be concerned primarily with getting the T-bird in my name, I could use the the Monte Carlo as a trade-in on something new. Hmmm ...
