I think it's time I mentioned something which is going on.

Eddie Ruff has hanged himself at last.

Someone stole $400 from the cafe money Saturday. From the beginning Eddie was a suspect. The money bag was in Bert's pocketbook and he took it into her bedroom when he cleaned up Saturday. I thought I heard a bag ruffle, and the thought crossed my mind that he might get something out of her pocketbook, but I didn't know that the money bag was in there. Why would I think of anything?

Well ...

Loretta talked to Eddie's mother. From that conversation, and the circumstances, it's been made pretty clear that he had to have stolen the money. Somehow he got his hands on a pair of $89 shoes, which he said that his mother bought him. But Loretta talked to his mom and she said that she hadn't bought him anything.

Eddie's paid off some of his bills, too.

The key factor here is that he only drew $60, but somehow managed to buy a pair of $89 shoes and pay off at least one $50 debt. He's said that he has some pot for sale, which would mean that he had to have the money to buy it in the first place.

All fingers point at him. And it tickles the hell out of me. I've seen him huckster and bullshit his way into all sorts of things through the years. I've seen him kiss ass and stroke egoes, manipulating people into letting him do what he wanted as he wanted. And he thought he could do this and get away with it.

Thank God. There is justice. If only just this once. I'd pay good money to see it. Because he is going to get his ass burned.
