Things are shaping up around here.

I have a metallic old-world map over my mantle in the living, with a set of fireplace pokers, etc., which Sherry loaned me, sitting on the hearth. I also have the old ‘Red Jacket’ ship sitting on the mantle, which provides a nice counter-point to the map, I think.

To my left, here in the bedroom, I have two pictures on the wall. The foremost left has a woman standing on the shore of a small pond, reaching behind her to undo her dress, apparently in preparation for a dip. The right has the same woman, seen from a slightly different viewpoint, stripped down to her underlings, preparing for the same. These are handsome paintings.

Behind me, on the wall over my chester drawer, I have a graphical print of a lady, covering herself with a swath of cloth. Her expression, which seems more quizzical than guarded, is as if she's surprised by being interrupted but not so unfamiliar with you that she would be angered. That's the main reason I bought this one. The eyes.

The print of Pegasus has found a home in the corner here, though that was completely by accident, having been hung there initially just to get the thing out of the floor. Its hanging too low, but that can be fixed. My guitars are lined up at the foot of my bed, beside and beneath it. In wait.

I finally got the tape racks on the wall in the living room, but am still debating about where I should put my Lamborghini print. I've considered over my bed, as well as over my chair in the living room, but both seem difficult. Still, I have to put it up somewhere.

The statue I named Marissa watches as I write. As does the little wizard Bert gave me. I found, in a box of things tucked away at the house, my prized wine glasses and the ‘Cutty Sark’ ship, as well as assorted doo dads which have become staples of my existence.

All in all, things seem complete. Once I make the final plunge and situate everything, this will definitely feel like home. It already has those twinges, and since I've been getting the familiar things in newly familiar places, I am more comfortable by the moment.
