Encounter With The Animals

Fayetteville, North Carolina. I met the NC version of The Animals today (obscure references for a thousand, Alex?). They were all stoned, but had my trailer loaded in ten minutes. They were tucked away in the back of the facility, as if they were being kept away from the general population. When I opened the door to the shipping office, all five of them, to a man, looked up only after a 5 second delay.

As for that reference, “The Animals” are characters from Christopher Moore's Bloodsucking Fiends and You Suck novels. Stoners who work the graveyard shift at a Wal-Mart type store and engaged in challenging sports such as frozen turkey bowling (when they're not hunting vampires).
