Just talked to another Epes driver about per diem. It helped me to understand how it affects the paycheck of an average driver. This guy showed me his pay statement. It looks like per diem puts an extra $250 in his pocket every week. Given the mess it looks like Mara has left me in, I think I should seriously look at this.

I think I'll make an appointment with someone at H&R Block for next Monday to discuss the possible pitfalls. I also need to talk to Payroll at Epes to be clear on how they implement it.
