I turned down that job offer. Mainly because of the notable lack of insurance. Mara's hand is healing, but we can't afford to be caught without insurance should something go wrong or should she need another procedure or follow-up. The job would have left us without insurance for at least three months until I was hired full time by the trucking company (until then I'd be on temp status working for a staffing agency), and even then the guy I talked to couldn't tell me anything about that insurance. All in all, that was a deal-breaker. I had other concerns and issues, but that was the one thing that pushed me across the line.
