Still in Tunnel Hill. I'm in the truck. They haven't quite finished with it, but as near as I can tell all the major things have been taken care of. They say that all they're waiting on is a part for the dash. But the satcom is fixed, the cabinets are fixed, the bunk window is fixed, and I've had my PM done besides. Given that the dash is not acting up right now, I'm inclined to say to hell with it and roll. I'd rather get out of here if I could. Well, I'd rather get some sleep, but we pick our battles. I can deal with waiting for a while to have the dash repaired; assuming it ever acts up again.
I'm in no hurry to tell USX that I'm ready because, as I said, I need some sleep. They've already tried to put two loads on me, with the truck in shop status. As soon as I'm out of shop status they'll be pushing for me to roll. But I need to call my dispatcher and let her know that for the most part I'm just waiting for the shop to finish up with that dash unit. Personally, given the fact that the dash unit has been reassembled, I'd say someone repaired it and just didn't check it off. Of course, if they did they didn't clear out the old errors in the diagnostics unit, but that would be nothing new.
For the most part, though, the truck is back to normal. That's a blessing. Maybe now I can find ways to deal with the simmering hatred I feel toward the people who stole the truck. If the truck's ready to roll, I'm ready to move on. Hell, I need to move on. And I desperately need to make us some money. I just don't want to do it when I'm slumping over the steering wheel because I'm so sleepy.
