Mara and I had dinner at a Flying J truckstop tonight here in Salt Lake City. I only mention this because the meal was nearly ruined by the annoying presence of Fox News in the form of Hannity & Colmes (on television). Mara was very gracious, but I could hardly eat for the presence of that pinhead Sean Hannity. I won't go over the broadcast. What's the point? Every show is the same carefully constructed stream of lies and misinformation; an excuse for Republican propaganda. I fear for my country; that garbage such as this can be peddled to the masses as news and drones just lap it up. The brain-washing of large parts of America is so complete that I fear it's too late to return to sanity. We will have to ride out this wave of madness under Bush just as the Italians did under Mussolini and the Germans did under Hitler. In the end all we can do is pray for the soul of our country and hope that the blind and blinded will eventually find their way. May God help us all until then. It's going to be a long, dark night.
