Well, it looks like we'll be leaving today. One of the guys at Covington Diesel (where our truck is at) went to Greensboro and picked up a fuel pump. They said to call back around 16:15 to see if it will be ready today (which is what they're shooting for). We have no reason to believe that it won't be ready.

Ray called. He said that Ken Haynes located a truck in Memphis. Now, how the hell we're supposed to get to Memphis is beyond me. Ray didn't give any indication that he would work us that way (maybe by giving us one of the Mountain Home, Arkansas runs). So I don't know why he even mentioned it. We would be willing to go to Memphis if we were going to be heading that way. But that's Ray's call, not ours.

What do I expect to happen? I expect to be stuck with this fucking piece of shit goddamned truck from now on. Ray doesn't give a shit. Ken doesn't give a shit. No one gives a shit. And so we just keep driving the same old piece of fucking shit truck, and we just keep on patching the son of a bitch back together and hoping that some day we'll finally drive enough miles and deliver enough loads to warrant some kind of consideration from this company.

Mara and I are both depressed right now. Not because we have to go back to work, but because we have to get back into that truck. We still don't have any air conditioning, and neither of us are looking forward to another week spent simmering in our own sweat. We'll both spend the next week overheating and wondering why in the fuck we're willing to put ourselves through that for this company.
