Sitting in Dallas, Texas. Been here since early yesterday.
Essentially, we are the victims of an complete fuckup by the shipper. The load which we were supposed to pick up by 13:00 yesterday not only was not ready when we got here, but they had never heard of it. To make a long story short, it's 13:10. We've been here since 11:00. They just received the order about 30 minutes ago. This means that we have to wait for them to stage it (which will take several hours), and then we'll have to wait for them to load it (which will take at least another hour).
The only thing which has kept me here and from requesting to be reassigned to another load is that this load is going to El Paso. I want to go to El Paso. We will most likely head farther west, perhaps to California, from there. So yes, I want to go there.
Also, I want Mara to see the big cacti out there in the desert along highway 10. I mean, most people have seen them in the movies, but few have actually seen them standing around in the desert. It's totally different, seeing them in their natural element.
Well, I'm updating web pages. There's always a truckload of stuff to do there. So I'll get back to it. Mara has been trying to talk me into joining the Journal Webring and sharing my diary with other folks, but I'm not so inclined to do that as she is. I'm not sure. I might do it, just to validate putting the damned thing up on the web. But I still worry about becoming a performing seal.
