My recollection of Bedford Park encounter.
The guy in shipping was being difficult with Mara. He made her pull her trailer out again after she had already dropped it, because he didn't think it was straight enough, telling her "practice makes perfect." His tone angered her, and the fact that he was doubling her workload angered me. Then he was criticizing the way she swept the trailer. She always has to take shit from these people when she's the one who drives into this customer.
I went in intending to talk about it, but had changed my mind by the time I got in; it just wasn't worth it. But then the guy came zooming up to me on the forklift and, in a confrontational manner, said; "What can I do for you?"
I said "I just wanted to see which one of you was messing with my wife."
I dropped it, figuring that it was in our best interest to do so, and continued on to the bathroom. At that point I had accepted that I was going to be doing what I always do; glare at people but keep my mouth shut. I was just going to use the bathroom and leave.
On my way out of the building the guy stopped in front of me and got off of his forklift. He grumbled something to himself that I couldn't understand, but he was clearly being confrontational in his attitude.
I said; "Are you the guy who thinks practice makes perfect?"
He said sarcastically; "Yeah, don't you think so?"
I said; "Not in this case."
He said, "Shit," and waved me off, dismissing me.
I said; "Well, remember me, because you won't fuck with me the way you did my wife."
He said; "If that's the way you want to be, then fuck you, you won't be getting this load."
I said; "I don't think this load is yours to give or keep."
He said; "Fuck you."
I said the same back to him.
Shortly after I got back to the truck Security had arrived to escort us from the property.
