Mama called Cloninger & Neisler today. Our check is at their office. Okay, so not everyone keeps up with our soap opera. We tried again for the mortgage on the house, and this time we got it. All the paperwork has been signed and we were only waiting for the final check to come in. Well, it's in.
I'm a little apprehensive about taking on a loan that will cost us, by the time it's paid off in 15 years, over $120,000 and walking away from C&N's offices with an $18,000 check. Of course, I should mention that $30,000 of the money we borrowed pays of my aunt Loretta's existing loan on the house, and about $11,000 went to miscellaneous bills and closing costs. From a credit perspective, we're free and clear of debt. Well, except for the mortgage payment, our car payment, and various bills, etc. And we'll have to give Mara's mom $4,000 of that $18,000 because of money we owe her on the Ford Aerostar we bought from her.
I'm trying to be positive here. And I'm pulling it off.
