I'm about to go to bed. Mara and I stayed up to play Star Wars: Galaxies, but we're not going to make it as far as we have the last couple of nights. We went to bed at daylight yesterday morning. She sprung a surprise on me. She bought us a house (in the game) on Corellia's moon, Talus. I think this officially makes us scary geeks. We've joined the ranks of those who have, in some small way, taken up a literal residence in "cyber-space." This has implications which I haven't considered yet; some of them disturbing. But I enjoy playing the game with her. Now if we can only find a way to spend as much time and energy working on our real lives as we do these new virtual lives. I have the uncomfortable feeling that this bit of escapist fun could very easily interfere with our real lives.
