Ray wrote us on the satcom today and told us that he had spoken to Ken Haynes; that they were waiting on tags and might be able to get us a Volvo in 2 weeks. I thanked ray, but am not going to get my hopes up. The safety issue aside, it would be really nice to be able to get some sleep in a truck that didn't feel like a buckboard wagon. My arthritis would certainly not be as much trouble. But still, the primary issue is safety and the ability to leave the customer's docks in Chicago Heights under our own power. Besides, the management at the customer would be livid if they knew that their dock workers regularly pushed us away from the dock with a forklift. Hopefully this safety issue will carry some weight with the powers that be in Tunnel Hill. 2 weeks?
